AN ABSOLUTE STEAL OF A DEAL FOR THESE RARE CANADIAN CHAIRS. Incredible restored (see photos) iconic bent birch formed plywood MS-SC chairs, with original stamping “ambient” by Ambient Systems, Canada. These chairs have underwent a major facelift to preserve their beauty and original state. Sandblasted, sanded, wood-filled to assure smooth finish, tung oiled three coats and wax sealed. The natural bevels and grooves in this birch took to the wax and the unique graining thus exposed. I love how each chair has slightly unique graining and and contrast. The bent plywood and moulded seats offer an extremely comfortable sit and the sleek design complimentary to all interiors. The material being lightweight and the cut-out back make these chairs extremely functional. 1969.
